corrosive battery in car image

When you are having trouble with your car or truck starting and you open the hood up to take a peek to see this....you'll see what an overly corroded battery looks like. This happens naturally over time on vehicle battery terminals.  If you are like 99% of normal Greenville drivers, you don't check your oil or your battery so you don't keep an eye on the amount of corrosion that's building up on your car or truck battery.  Here at Greenville Auto Clinic, LLC, we do and there are solvents that we can use here in the shop during a battery maintenance service that will help slow the corrosion process but nothing that can prevent it 100%. Way before it gets to this point, we will be suggesting you consider replacing the battery.

Transmission Cut to show you the inside of it

Nothing works if your transmission doesn't work!  Simply put you are going nowhere without it and it is the one thing that both car and truck drivers alike never think twice about until it really acts up or they have no power or simply don't move forward.  Most of us have a newer car or truck with an automatic transmission in it vs. a standard transmission so do not notice that it is slipping gears until the problem is really serious so the question is how do you get the most out of your transmission?  The obvious answer is to take care of your transmission with scheduled service per your owner's manual recommendation but we have put together a simple checklist for our Greenville drivers to help them become "transmission aware" as it were.

Oil gunked up on an engine.

We see this with our fleet customers, our regular Greenville car pool drivers and our diesel truck drivers so it isn't just one type of driver that ends up with a nightmare on their hands costing thousands of dollars to repair, asking about the costs of a JASPER replacement engine!  The fact is your driving habits and maintenance habits can easily avoid this issue!  6 EASY STEPS - Service, Tires, Don't Ignore Service Engine Lights, Keep it Clean & Stop Driving Crazy!

Lady with car hood up - steam rising

Sometimes it is EASY to see if your car or truck needs to come into our shop for professional repairs!
1.  You see steam rising from the engine!
2.  The Check Engine Light is on!
3.  The engine starts, but there is an odor that is not right.
4.  You hear grinding or thumping noises.

Here at Greenville Auto Clinic, LLC in Greenville we often do diagnostics and sometimes the problem is obvious after hooking the car up to the computer and reading the codes.  However, sometimes it isn't obvious during a test drive or after hooking it up to all those computer programs!  You know there is a problem and a Check Engine Light is on with the fleet customer telling you the car has been having issues starting and the light has been going off and on depending on several factors.  No pattern, no simple answer but the problem becomes obvious when you start following the "threads of the issue" thanks to all that ASE Technician training.

I was broken down on the side of the highway traveling across the country. Explain my situation and even though they were all stacked up they brought me in repaired my vehicle and got me on my way at a fair honest price.

My son and I broke down on I-65 (during a rainstorm, of all the luck). Not being from the area I had to rely on reviews of a shop to have my car towed to. I chose Greenville Auto Clinic. They gave me recommendations on a shuttle/taxi service and let us camp out in their garage where there was space to social distance and abide by state health recommendations. Their shop was already full, but they fit me in, got the car diagnosed quickly and regretfully informed me of the repairs needed and the cost. Which was super reasonable and they could have be back on the road in a few hours. My son and I decided to go into town for a bite to eat while waiting, and when recanting our tale, we had several of the locals tell us that they could also vouch for the fairness and quality provided. Additionally, we had to use the facilities, and they were very clean. I'm not thrilled I broke down, but I am happy to have found decent people along this crazy adventure. Thanks Luke and family. - Heather S. (5 star review on Google)
